TELETOON AND KRAFT TO COUNT DOWN 13 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN
By Adnews Staff
Teletoon and Kraft Canada, both of Toronto, have begun a promotion called the "13 Days of Halloween". Each weekday during a Halloween-themed block of programming from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., viewers will see clues to the locations of various missing orange items. Viewers then visit the Teletoon Web site at <http://www.teletoon.com> to enter the their guesses. The grand prize is a year's supply of Kraft Dinner and $1,000 cash. The animation station has temporarily replaced its Web site with a "spooky" site for Halloween hosted by a character named Count Down. A 30-second promotional ad, which began running on Teletoon on October 9, explains that Count Down has stolen all of Teletoon's orange stuff and asks kids to watch for daily clues. Also running during the Halloween block of programming are 12 versions of a 15-second clue billboard. All of these ads were created in-house. On October 31, Teletoon will reveal the hiding place. This is the third year for the "13 Days of Halloween" promotion and the second year Teletoon has teamed up with Kraft Canada.
