NICKELODEON LICENSES NELVANA PROGRAMS

U.S. children's entertainment network Nickelodeon has struck a deal with Toronto-based animation production company Nelvana to license the international distribution rights for its series Taina's World and The Fairly Old Parents. Nickelodeon will also renew two Nelvana-produced shows currently airing: Maggie and the Ferocious Beast and Pelswick. Nickelodeon will also co-produce at least one new series with Nelvana. In addition to Taina's World and The Fairly Old Parents, Nickelodeon and its preschool service, Nick Jr., also air Nelvana's Franklin and Maurice Sendak's Little Bear series. Nelvana is a division of Toronto-based entertainment company Corus Entertainment.
