Y&R BREAKS NEW SPOTS FOR FORD

Ford Motor Company of Canada, based in Oakville, ON, is airing a new series of television commercials from Young & Rubicam. "Umbrella" is a 60-second spot that is intended to bring the brands and personalities of all of Ford's products under one umbrella theme and the tagline, "Time to change your expectations. What you need in a car comes out of what you need in life." The spot began running in mid-July in English and French. Two 30-second versions have also been created. "Pink Bike" is a 60-second spot for Ford's Windstar. Also running in English and French, the spot depicts a boy watching from the bushes as his mother backs her Windstar out of the driveway toward his sister's bicycle. The bicycle is saved, however, when the vehicle's rear sensor detects its presence. The spot ends with the tagline "Ideal for life's little hazards." Two additional spots have also been created and will break this fall.
