P&G PROMOTES CARIBBEAN STYLE SUNNY DELIGHT
By Adnews Staff
Procter & Gamble is promoting the North American launch of Sunny Delight Caribbean Style with television advertising and an "Escape to the Caribbean" contest. Sunny Delight Caribbean Style, which combines passion fruit, tangerine and orange, joins the California Style and Florida Style varieties of the drink. A 30-second television spot from Saatchi and Saatchi of New York began running on July 2. The spot features Caribbean spokesperson Dr. D, portrayed by Verne Troyer, the actor who played "Mini-Me" in Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me. In the spot Dr. D attempts to harness the sun until a young boy tells him that the sun has already been captured in Sunny Delight Caribbean Style. In the "Escape to the Caribbean" contest the grand prize winner and three friends will win a four-day, three-night trip to the Caribbean. The contest can be entered at the recently re-launched <http://www.sunnyd.com> Web site. The contest, which is being handled by D.L. Blair of Blair, NE, runs until January 2002.
