ABCON WRAPS GLASS BUILDINGS
By Adnews Staff
Abcon Media Group of Toronto is installing large murals on glass office towers. Using the same type of adhesive vinyl used to wrap buses, the creative can be seen by pedestrians and motorists outside the building while employees on the inside can continue to see through the windows. Each mural consists of a series of smaller panels which are assembled by crews working from an image of the ad. Three murals have already gone up. The largest, an advertisement for Bud Light, is at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Duplex Avenue in Toronto. Les Abro, chief executive officer of Abcon Media Group, described the cost of the murals as "on par" with the price of a billboard along the Gardiner Expressway. Abcon is also offers Boom-Ads, which place advertising on the gates at parking lots. The company is also working on a new concept called Pole-Media which will place advertisements on lampposts at shopping malls and strip malls.
