MCDONALD'S BREAKS FIRST ENGLISH CANADA-ONLY CAMPAIGN

A new advertising campaign from Toronto-based McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited is first for the foodservice company which uses an advertising concept unique to English Canada. The campaign is the first work from McDonald's agency Cossette Communication-Marketing since the agency won the company's consolidated English Canada advertising account last fall. The campaign also introduces a new tagline: "There's a little McDonald's in everyone." The Golden Arches logo with a smile underneath it appears below the tagline in the creative. Radio advertising broke nationally on Friday. Two initial television commercials called "In the Shade" and "My Treat" will follow, beginning today and on July 16 respectively. Outdoor advertising rolls out this week. In-restaurant materials are expected to be on display by the end of the month. Public relations for McDonald's are handled by Weber Shandwick Worldwide.
