BBM OFFERS DAILY DATA FOR TORONTO MARKET

The BBM Bureau of Measurement began offering daily data from its Toronto people meter service last week. The organization's people meter service measures television usage and channel selection through monitoring devices in volunteer households. The service was first introduced in Vancouver in 1998 and expanded to Toronto and Quebec last year. Viewership data from BBM's people meter service is available to subscribers such as advertisers, agencies, media buyers and broadcasters. The information is intended to provide feedback on ad spending and program popularity. According to BBM, this initiative is a major step in the expansion of its meter service toward national coverage.
