AGENCIES, MARKETERS AND NHL ALUMNI FACE OFF

Advertising agencies, marketers and National Hockey League alumni take to the ice this Saturday for the ninth annual Skate For Kids event. The hockey fundraiser was created by the Toronto-based executive search firm Mandrake, which also organizes the event and silent auction each year. Teams from Ammirati Puris, Young & Rubicam, Harrod & Mirlin FCB, J. Walter Thompson, BBDO, Vickers & Benson, Palmer Jarvis DDB, MacLaren McCann, Leo Burnett and Ogilvy & Mather will be joined by over 40 NHL alumni including Mike Pelyk, Dave Gardner, Mike Boland and Bill Carroll. A new game is played every hour on the hour from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at St. Michael's College School arena in Toronto. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit The Gatehouse, a Toronto-based support and advocacy centre which assists children and their families who have been abused, St. Michael's College School and the National Advertising Benevolent Society.
