HBC LAUNCHES CANADA'S BIGGEST REWARDS PROGRAM

Toronto-based Hudson's Bay Company will launch its new HBC Rewards program tomorrow. The loyalty rewards program, said to be the largest in Canada, builds on Hudson's Bay Company's Club Z program which rewarded members with points for purchases made in the company's Zellers stores. The new HBC Rewards program will allow members to collect points on purchases made at all HBC stores including the Bay, Zellers and Home Outfitters as well as online at <http://www.hbc.com>. Points can then be redeemed for reward items in the new HBC Rewards catalogue. Club Z members will automatically be enrolled in the program and can use their Club Z cards to collect HBC Reward points. Air Mile reward miles, which Bay customers previously collected on their purchases, will now be available as a redemption option in the new program. A national television and radio advertising campaign which asks Canadians "What are you saving for?" will run in major markets across Canada. Two 30-second TV spots feature a variety of customers dreaming about reward items. Television advertising is being accompanied with two 60-second and two 30-second radio spots introducing the program to consumers. The launch of the HBC Rewards will also be supported with in-store signage and a national contest running May 2 until June 28. Advertising for HBC Rewards is done by Wolf Group of Toronto.
