OSC BEGINS INVESTOR EDUCATION WEEK

The Ontario Securities Commission has placed inserts in Owl, Chickadee and Chirp magazines as part of the Canadian Securities Administrators' annual public awareness campaign. Investor Education Week began yesterday and runs until April 27, promoting the importance of investor education and publicizing the resources available from Canada's securities regulators and their partners. The inserts, which appeared in the April issues of the children's magazines, contain information for children on one side and information for their parents on the other. The inserts also direct children to a new section of the OSC's Web site called "Hey Kids," which is designed to provide investor information in plain language. The section also offers interactive games kids and parents can play and will soon provide video links with partner Street Cents, a CBC television show.
