TELUS TEES UP SKINS SPONSORSHIP

Toronto-based IMG-Canada has signed a new title sponsor for the Canadian Skins Game, telecommunications company Telus. Telus will serve as title sponsor for five years in a deal that is valued "at seven figures", according to Michael Merrall, senior vice-president and managing director of IMG-Canada. Previous title sponsor, Export A, was forced to step down after eight years because of tobacco legislation, he said. Also, Ericsson Canada Inc. has signed a five-year renewal as presenting sponsor of the Skins Game. The Telus Skins Game takes place at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Toronto on July 23 and 24. Additional sponsors of the event include TD Securities, Michelin North American (Canada) Inc., The Globe & Mail, Bud Light, Maxfli and Greg Norman Collection. The event will be broadcast on TSN and RDS, thanks to a new three-year television deal between those networks and IMG-Canada.
