ASTRAL MEDIA'S PAY TELEVISION NETWORKS DEBUT NEW LOOKS

Toronto-based Astral Media is re-branding its pay-TV networks. New looks for The Movie Network, Moviepix and Super Ecran were created by 3-Ring Circus, a Los Angeles-based company that counts HBO, ABC, NBC and Fox among its clients. On-air changes will roll out this month. Re-designed Web sites for each network will debut in April. The re-branding effort includes new logos, station identifications and taglines for each of the three networks. Changes have also been made to Feature magazine, the monthly premium television guide. Astral will be breaking an ad campaign in English Canada promoting The Movie Network. The two 30-second television commercials will introduce the network's new tagline "The Movie Network. Beyond TV." Print ads in TV magazines such as TV Guide and Starweek will also promote the network's programming and will be accompanied by outdoor and Internet executions. A separate ad campaign in Quebec will promote Super Ecran. Outdoor and television advertising will use that network's new tagline "Le Tele Grand Format" (Big Screen Television). Advertising for Astral's third network, Moviepix, will appear this summer promoting the network's new positioning. Advertising for Astral Media is done by Bos of Montreal.
