DU MAURIER MAINTAINS ROLE IN ATLANTIC JAZZ FESTIVAL

Du Maurier will continue as title sponsor of the Atlantic Jazz Festival. The Montreal-based tobacco company has held the title for the past ten years. The Atlantic Jazz Festival is organized by JazzEast of Halifax. As title sponsor for the 2001 festival, du Maurier is contributing $90,000 towards the festival as well as limited promotional support and support around the event itself, said Susan Hunter, executive director with JazzEast. The 2001 Atlantic Jazz Festival takes place July 6 to 14 in Halifax. In addition to the Atlantic festival, du Maurier also holds the title sponsorship of the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival and the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, both of which take place June 22 to July 1.
