Q107 LAUNCHES NEXT INSTALLMENT IN GUYS GARAGE SERIES
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based radio station Q107 has launched Guys Garage 5. The contest is the fifth in a series that first began in spring 1999. Darren Wasylyk, director of marketing and promotions for Q107, said each time the station has launched the contest there has been a different theme such as "The Nagging Wife" and "The Whining Kids." Guys Garage 5 centres around "The Irritating In-laws." Listeners win a key that may unlock the garage by tuning into Q107 and listening for the "Irritating In-laws." The grand prize is a garage full of "Five Times The Toys For Boys" including a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, big screen TV with DVD player, freezer full of beef, a barbecue and catered street party, hot tub, pool table and more. Q107 is supporting the contest with on-air promotion. The Toronto Sun, which has been a sponsor of the contest since its inception, is also promoting the contest daily. On Sunday a photo of the "Irritating In-laws" will also appear in the newspaper. Listeners who correctly identify which page the photo appears on will win a key. Q107's Guys Garage launched yesterday and runs until April 20.
