BURGER KING GIVES PROMOTION AOR TITLE TO DRAFTWORLDWIDE
By Adnews Staff
Miami-based Burger King Corporation has handed global promotional and merchandising account to Chicago-based DraftWorldwide. The agency has also picked up responsibilities for strategic development, calendar planning, POP materials and field services for BK's international youth and family business. DraftWorldwide was one of two finalists in a review that shortlisted seven agencies. The incumbent, Alcone Marketing Group, was the second finalist. The appointment is the third agency hire the burger chain has made in recent weeks. McCann-Erickson of New York won the chain's general market adult advertising in the U.S. earlier this month. Shortly afterward Campbell Mithun of Minneapolis, MN won the AOR title for Burger King's kids advertising in the U.S. market. DraftWorldwide's first work for Burger King will be seen in March, coinciding with the launch of new advertising creative.
