VICKERS & BENSON FINDS WORK AT MONSTER.CA

Toronto's Vickers & Benson Advertising has been hired as agency-of-record for Montreal-based job hunting Web site Monster.ca. The company was directed toward V&B as a result of the relationship Monster.com has with Arnold Worldwide Partners in the U.S. Vickers & Benson Advertising is a division of Vickers & Benson Inc., which is a member of the Arnold Worldwide network of agencies. Monster.ca's appointment of V&B Advertising is effective April 1. The agency will be responsible for all general advertising, media buying, promotions and grassroots marketing. The $6 million account was previously handled by Publicite Martin of Montreal. Jennifer-Lee Thomas, director of communications for Monster.ca, said the company had planned an agency review with its then-current agency just prior to meeting with V&B. Rob Grumbach, vice-president and account director at V&B Advertising will head the Monster.ca account. Grumbach said a multi-faceted communications strategy is planned for 2001 involving new advertising for the Canadian market. Direct response and interactive marketing are also being considered.
