Cossette Interactive and Proximi-T, both of Montreal, have received a joint assignment from the Royal Canadian Mint to develop the RCM's new transactional Web site. Cossette Interactive, a subsidiary of Cossette Communication Group, and Proximi-T, an information technology consulting firm, pitched for the business together. The assignment is the first win for the two since Cossette acquired a stake in Proximi-T earlier this year. The team was shortlisted for the assignment with two additional unnamed companies. Cossette Interactive and Proximi-T develop of all aspects of the new site. The mint's current Web site was created in 1995 when the $2 coin debuted. Since then the site has undergone only minor re-design and modifications, said Diane Plouffe Reardon, executive director of communications for the mint. The re-launch site, located at <http://www.mint.ca> or <http://www.monnaie.ca>, will be done in three phases, the first of which is scheduled for April, 2001.
