TICO CONTINUES CONSUMER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario has unveiled the latest component in its ongoing consumer awareness campaign that first broke in September. The latest initiative is a weekly column that will appear in the National Post's travel section. The column, described as "promotional", will be written by TICO president and chief executive Michael Pepper. The first column will explain the advantages of booking travel through a licensed Ontario travel agency. Subsequent columns will answer readers' questions about the travel industry. The first part of this awareness program consisted of radio and print advertising in September. A second wave of ads will break for four-week runs in December and February, in conjunction with peak travelling periods for consumers.
