LIAZON HIRES PR AGENCY
By Adnews Staff
Liazon Communication Solutions of Markham, Ont. has a public relations but it still needs an ad agency. The company will begin a search for an ad shop in March, sales and marketing vice-president Greg Bandler told Adnews yesterday. Liazon gave the PR portion of its business last month to Atkins & Ellis Corporate and Marketing Communications. The Toronto agency won in a competition with four other agencies because "they are experts in building market understanding concerning new technologies and services related to the info-highway sector," Bandler said earlier in a release. Liazon hopes to have its service up and running in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal by the third quarter of 1996. The company is going to offer narrow-band communication services in Canada and the U.S. which allow users to respond instantly to a page. Liazon is working with American Paging Inc. of Minneapolis. Liazon is owned by Markham-based Upper Canada Communications Group. American Paging is a unit of Telephone and Data Systems. Inc.
