The Globe and Mail's weekly television magazine Broadcast Week was re-launched Saturday with an updated look and a new name. Globe Television was inserted in over 200,000 issues of the national newspaper in Ontario on the weekend. The updated magazine has retained some features from Broadcast Week, including John Doyle's "Critical List", and introduces some new features, including DVD and TV Web site coverage and a children's column. Andrew Ryan, editor of Globe Television, said that the update to the magazine allows the Globe to cover a broader spectrum of television. The launch of Globe Television is being supported with public relations activities from Environics Communications of Toronto. Print support included teaser ads running in the newspaper leading up to the re-launch.
