CANNECT BREAKS BRAND AWARENESS EFFORT

Vancouver-based telcom firm Cannect Communications has launched a four-week brand awareness campaign in the downtown cores of Vancouver and Toronto. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of Cannect's products and services among current and new customers. The branding effort depicts magicians dressed in tuxedo-style T-shirts and tops hats distributing re-branded, wrapped freezies called "Cannect Sicles." The freezies read "When you don't think like a phone company, magical things happen." Throughout September, Cannect's magicians will park the "Cannect Sicle Mobile" near street corners at various locations in each city during the lunch hour. The campaign, created by KOF of Oakville, Ontario, hopes to distribute 300,000 Cannect Sicles in both cities. Public relations for Cannect are handled by Sacke & Associates of Toronto.
