WRIGLEY'S EXTRA SUGARFREE LAUNCHES LARGEST PROMOTION EVER

Toronto-based chewing gum manufacturer Wrigley Canada is launching the largest consumer promotion ever for its Extra Sugarfree brand since the brand's launch in the early 80s. The promotion begins this month and is running nationwide supported with print advertising in trade publications such as Canadian Grocer, Western Grocer, Grocery Today and L'alimentation and POP materials in convenience stores, grocery stores, drug stores and gas bar outlets across Canada. "Go One Extra" encourages consumer to "do something Extra with your time and money" by awarding a grand prize of $25,000 and five secondary prizes of $5,000. Brian McDonald, vice president of marketing, Extra Sugarfree, said the contest and supporting advertising is designed to raise awareness and encourage trial of the product. Bilingual Flashmedia posters are running for an eight week period and are being supported with interior transit posters and retailer-related collateral materials. The "Go One Extra" promotion was developed by Wrigley's promotional agency Sabre Group of Toronto.
