SHANDWICK INTERNATIONAL BUYS FCC
By Adnews Staff
Shandwick International, based in London, has acquired a Dublin-based financial public relations firm for US$4 million, according to a report in Ad Age. Shandwick, which has 69 offices worldwide, has purchased Financial and Corporate Communicationsm, headed by Eileen Gleeson, special adviser to Ireland's president, Mary MacAleese. Gleeson founded and is the main shareholder of FCC. Gleeson has committed herself to the business for another four years and will remain managing director. The deal follows the ending of a 10-year relationship between Shandwick and Dublin-based public relations company Slattery earlier this year.
