PETRO-CANADA SHOWS OLYMPIC SUPPORT

Calgary-based Petro-Canada has further extended its relationship with the Canadian Olympic Association in a five-year sponsorship deal. In it Petro-Canada becomes the exclusive sponsor in the Oil and Gas sector for the next three Olympic Games. The company will develop fundraising activities and promotions in support of the COA leading up to the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney and beyond. Petro-Canada's first partnership with the COA was the Olympic Torch Scholarship Fund, which was established in 1988. Rob Andras, spokesperson for Petro-Canada, said the five-year sponsorship deal was the next logical extension of the partnership between Petro-Canada and the COA.
