GROCERY GATEWAY PROMOTES "OLD-FASHIONED" SERVICE

Grocery Gateway, based in Mississauga, Ontario, has launched a campaign to promote its "old-fashioned" style of service. Using an illustration of a 1950's deliver person, Gateway consumers to associate the home delivery service they receive from Gateway with that of a 50's milkman. The company's goal is to build route density. Grocery Gateway seeks to eventually deliver to every home in a neighborhood. The campaign is being launched in the Leaside community in Toronto. Included in the campaign is a print ad featuring "Jim," a 50's-style delivery person holding a container of groceries. "Jim" is juxtaposed with an image of a crowded elevator today. The text reads "Remember how it felt when someone carried your books home for you?" Additional marketing materials will be used at the community level to create awareness. Advertising for Grocery Gateway is handled by Garner Wurstlin Philp Brand Engineering. PR is handled by Media Profile. Both firms are Toronto-based.
