By Adnews Staff
A new contest from Toronto-based HMV North America is sending six Canadian teens to work for the summer. "Sweet Summer Gigs" will award a paid summer job with HMV to six contest winners over the age of 16. To enter, teens can pick up a mail-in post card at any HMV store and online at <http://www.hmv.com>, explaining in 25 words or less why they want to win. On July 3, a random draw will select the new employees. In addition to a paid summer job, one of the six winners will be selected in a second random draw to go to London, England to attend the Savage Garden and Destiny's Child concert on July 9. Andrew Pollock, vice president of marketing, HMV North America, explained, in addition to seeing what its like to work in a music store or online at HMV.com, the winners will get the chance to hang out backstage at some of this year's summer concerts and act as e-editor for HMV.com, writing music and concert reviews, including a review of the Savage Garden/Destiny's Child concert. "Sweet Summer Gigs" is being promoted with national television advertising, in-store POP materials and online at HMV.com. Advertising for HMV is done by Capital C of Toronto. PR for HMV is handled by Strategic Objectives of Toronto.
