HALLMARK GUIDING FATHER'S WHEN IT COMES TO ROMANCE
By Adnews Staff
With Father's Day quickly approaching, Toronto-based Hallmark Canada is giving dads a hand in "bringing out the 'man' in romance." The greeting card manufacturer has created the "Hallmark Guy's Guide to Romance Remote Control Sticker." The guide comes in the form of a sticker for Dad to stick on his television remote control. The sticker features information such as holidays he should celebrate and has a section for information he should remember including birthdays, anniversaries and mom's favorite ring size or flower. The sticker is free with every purchase of a Hallmark Father's Day card at Hallmark's 300 Gold Crown stores across Canada until Dad's day on June 18. Hallmark also announced it will reward Dad for his romantic efforts with the "Ultimate Guy's Gift." On June 14, 2000, Hallmark will hold a Romance-a-thon at the Hallmark store at the Sherway Gardens Shopping Centre in Toronto. The first ten men to register and enter their ballots, will be forced to sit through six hours of the romance movie "Love Story." Playing continuously from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the last guy watching goes home with the "Ultimate Guy's Gift" featuring a Bell ExpressVu satellite system and Oasis LA-Z-BOY complete with built-in cooler, motor massage, heat system and telephone. Hallmark's Father Day promotion is being supported with public relations from Toronto-based Strategic Objectives and in-store materials created by Capital C of Toronto.
