ROOTS CANADA AND SKYSERVICE TAKE OFF

RootsAir, the name of the new full service airline from Skyservice Airlines Inc., will take off for its first flight in Canadian skies this November. The name is the result of a marketing and branding alliance Skyservice and retailer Roots Canada announced earlier this week. RootsAir will operate daily flights between Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax as well as U.S. cities beginning this Fall. The airline will offer three classes of service and target business travellers. According to Roots co-founders, Michael Budman and Don Green, the extension into the travel industry was seen as a natural extension of the company's lifestyle focus. The graphic identity and co-branding concept for RootsAir was developed by Ove Design & Communications Ltd. of Toronto.
