By Adnews Staff
Calgary-based Cybersurf Corp. and Alberta television stations ITV Edmonton and CICT/Calgary 7 have crossed the T's and dotted the I's in a new year-long advertising deal supporting Cybersurf's free Internet service, the 3web network. Under the deal, the two stations will run television ads promoting 3web. Cybersurf, in return, will develop promotional ads for the stations, to run on 3web's user base in the Calgary and Edmonton markets. Cybersurf's 3web is a software application that offers users a secure portal to the world wide Web. The network is supported by commercial advertising. Cybersurf will initially begin running a combination of billboard and closed captioning ads to raise awareness of 3web and to promote the new features of its version 2.7 release in Alberta. ITV and Calgary 7 will use promotional ads to target specific markets using 3web's demographic intelligence capabilities. The demographic intelligence information is supplied to Cybersurf by 3web subscribers and allows advertisers to target a specific demographic profile. Cybersurf, ITV and Channel 7 will receive two million viewer and user impressions per market per month.
