THE MARKETING STORE TOASTS TORONTO OFFICE

Chicago-based Marketing Store Worldwide officially launches its Toronto office May 18. Kevin Astle, executive vice president, managing director, the Americas Zone, is joined by Paul Hains as senior vice president and chief creative officer, Roger Kenrick, who is appointed senior vice president of planning, Peri Luel who is named senior vice president of sponsorship marketing, Terri Perras, senior vice president of promotions and Dan Plouffe senior vice president, direct and database marketing. The agency has 20 employees and according to Astle, will be adding 20 more. Astle explained the focus is on the Toronto market for the time being as the Toronto and Chicago offices work together to create a seamless North American operation. Although the Toronto office officially launches Thursday, Astle said work has been going on since November. The agency already counts McDonald's Canada, General Mills, NBA Canada and Labatt Breweries among its clients and recently was awarded an assignment from Toronto-based Honda Canada. The Marketing Store was selected for the assignment based on its credentials and will be responsible for launching the new 2001 Honda Civic. The assignment includes direct and database marketing, advertising, promotion, public relations and events, expected to launch late summer.
