HKDP AND FORUM COMMUNICATIONS MERGE

Montreal-based Forum Communications & Public Affairs is merging with Hill & Knowlton/Ducharme Perron. HKDP is the company formed as a result of the merger between Hill & Knowlton Canada's Quebec operation and Ducharme Perron of Quebec last June. Michael Coates, president of Hill & Knowlton Canada and chairman of HKDP, explained Hill & Knowlton was looking to expand its presence in the Montreal market. First with last years merger with Ducharme Perron and now continuing with Forum Communications. He said H&K was looking for partners who understood the market and with whom it could grow. HKDP and Forum have worked together on major accounts such as Ultramar Ltd. in the past. The staff at Forum Communications will be moving into the HKDP offices in Montreal by the end of the month. Jean Simard and March Parson, the founding partners of Forum, will become part of the management committee at HKDP. Financial details were not disclosed.
