AMMIRATI PURIS LINTAS CLEANS UP AT BESSIES 2000

Ammirati Puris Lintas was the top winner at the 2000 Bessies Awards held in Toronto Wednesday night. The agency took home the best of show campaign title and a gold in the best campaign category for client Lever Pond's Vaseline Intensive Care hand cream. The same two spots that made up the campaign, "Blind Date" and "Table Manners", also each received gold honors in the singles category. The Toronto-based agency was also awarded gold singles for its "Men's Room" spot for client Clarica and its "Whoopi Cushion" spot for client Lipton. Palmer Jarvis DDB of Vancouver left the awards ceremony with the best of show single honor for its "Meat Cutter" spot and a gold win for best campaign for its client Saint John Ambulance. The campaign included three spots "BBQ" "Tablesaw" and "Meat Cutter". The agency also took home a gold single for the "Meat Cutter" spot. Additional winners taking home gold singles were Leo Burnett Company Ltd. for its "Family Breakfast" spot for client Kellogg Canada, Gee, Jeffery & Partners for its "Immigration" spot for client Cantel AT&T and J. Walter Thompson for its "Laundry Night" spot created for client Kraft Canada. The winning selections were chosen from over 600 entries. The Bessies are organized by The Television Bureau of Canada working in partnership with The Canadian Broadcast Executive Society.
