MICROCELL CONNEXIONS READING THE FINANCIAL PAGES

Toronto-based Microcell Connexions is washing ashore on the financial pages of two of Canada's daily newspapers after launching its first ever advertising campaign for its digital GSM network. A series of three "island" ads began running on the financial pages of both The Globe and Mail and the National Post today, targeting the business community. The campaign's first wave of advertising is scheduled to run until late June. Each ad in the series features a different message including "Where there's security there's connexions" and "Where there's global reach there's connexions." The tagline is "and that's just the start." "In developing the creative, our aim was to find a new, intelligent way of grabbing the attention of the business community to open their minds to the many wireless business possibilities offered by Connexions' GSM network," Claude Carrier, vice president of Bos Advertising in Toronto, said in a release. Microcell Connexions operates the only network based on GSM or Global System for Mobile Communications in Canada. PR for Microcell is handled by Opsis Communications & Marketing of Toronto.
