BMO LETS CANADIANS DOUBLE DIP

Montreal-based Bank of Montreal is making it easier for Canadians to collect Air Mile reward miles. The Double Dip with Debit card made its debut last week. Use of the card awards customers extra miles when they make a purchase at an Air Miles reward sponsor. The card is free when a Bank of Montreal Air Miles Chequing account is opened. One extra reward mile from the bank will be awarded to customers in addition to the Air Miles rewarded by the sponsor. Additional bonuses include 50 extra miles for the first purchase using a Double Dip card. Marjorie Shield, senior manager of corporate marketing, said the card is in response to the heavy use of debit cards as well as a way to increase BMO's client base. Print ads in major dailies and radio spots in key markets begin running this week supporting the new card. Advertising for the Double Dip with Debit Card was created by Vickers & Benson of Toronto.
