HMV.COM LISTENING TO ALL TIME FAVORITES

HMV.com is giving consumers the chance to win $1,000 just by sharing their picks for the "Best Albums of all Time." Beginning April 19 and running until May 19, the online music retailer is inviting consumers to visit <http://www.hmv.com> and list their ten favorite albums. A "Win" section on the site home page will include a "Best Albums of All Time" button. The button will let consumers send HMV.com their picks which will be included in a final list to be compiled by music retailer. The winner of the $1,000 will be chosen by random draw from all the completed entries. The results of the online promotion will also be used to determine the titles for HMV's in-store "Best Albums of all Time" promotion taking place in June 2000. HMV first launched the in-store promotion in 1998, promoting 1000 of the best albums of all time. This year's promotion will give HMV a chance to update the list. In addition to the online results, HMV sales history and store manager input will also be used to determine the titles for the in-store promotion. No purchase is necessary and the online contest is open to all Canadian residents. In-store materials and a public relations campaign are supporting the online contest. Advertising including radio, print ads and POP materials are also planned to for June. Advertising for HMV is done by Capital C of Toronto. PR for HMV is handled by Strategic Objectives of Toronto.
