CANADIAN TIRE ENTERS NEXT GENERATION

Canadian Tire Corporation has created a new retail format for its stores called "Next Generation." The format contains several new features in its kitchen and housewares, hardware and tools, automotive and sporting goods departments. "Next Generation" also includes elements that are designed to make it easier for customers to shop, such as new navigational signage, directions, help stations, price look-up kiosks, expanded product assortments and displays. The new format was introduced at Retail City, Canadian Tire's operational testing environment that consists of two store models and one gasoline station. Canadian Tire plans on rolling out its new format in more than 100 locations across Canada this year.
