SUMMEDIA.COM DEBUTS REDESIGNED ECOUPON PORTAL

Vancouver-based SUMmedia.com Inc. has responded to customer feedback and redesigned its eCoupon portal <http://www.savingumoney.com>. Al Szajman, vice president, marketing, said the need to revise the site was driven by two objectives: to enhance the site experience for existing users and to make the site better for new users. New features include a second online SUM Sweepstakes, a power search bar function, a resource centre with online calculators and a monthly newsletter, a new moving window feature called "SUM SPOTS" highlighting special offers, a community section for consumers to offer suggestions and the introduction of a monthly poll called "U-Vote" where consumers vote on topics affecting their communities. The redesign, which made its debut, late February, was created in-house. SUMmedia.com currently operates its eCoupon portal in the Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Seattle markets. The company will be launching in Edmonton within two to three months Szajman said and by the end of the year will have launched in 8 major U.S. cities. Internationally, the company is launching in Hong Kong in early April and in Australia in mid-April. TV ads recently broke in the Canadian market. Six 15-second spots, created by Palmer Jarvis DDB of Vancouver, are running for 37 weeks throughout the year.
