MSN PROMOTING MESSENGER SERVICE

Toronto-based MSN.CA is using a new ad campaign to show Canadians how to communicate in real-time using its MSN Messenger Service. The campaign is the last project Toronto-based Communiqué will complete for MSN.CA following the company's appointment of Publicis Canada as it's new AOR. The new ads use humor to show how easy it is for Canadians to communicate with family, friends and colleagues over the Internet. In one spot, "Scott" is seen sitting at his computer playing solitaire when the MSN Messenger icon pops up on his screen. His friend and co-worker lets him know the boss is about to pass by Scott's desk. Scott is then seen jumping into action, messing up his desk, picking up the phone, shouting at co-workers and generally trying to look busy. The national television campaign, running in both English and French, also marks MSN.CA's introduction of a new logo. The logo features a multicoloured butterfly to symbolize the freedom and personal empowerment MSN.CA brings to Canadians. The ads will run for the next few months, Jill Schoolenberg, group marketing manager for MSN.CA said. PR for MSN.CA is handled by Hill and Knowlton of Toronto.
