High Road Communications is growing. The public relations firm has announced four promotions and the addition of two new appointments to its Toronto office. Kate Wild moves from senior consultant to account director in the telecom/datacom and hardware practice. Hugh Scholey has been promoted from account coordinator to consultant in the B2B and ebusiness software practice. Justin Creally moves from an account supervisor to a senior consultant position in the e-commerce and Internet applications practice, while Gloria Vidovich has been promoted from consultant to account supervisor in the e-commerce and Internet application practice. Joining High Road as a account director in the the B2B/e-business software practice and telecom/hardware practice is David Erskine. Erskine comes to High Road from BenchMark Communications where he was a senior consultant. Lisa Marchitto also joins High Road as a consultant in the e-commerce and Internet application practice. Most recently Marchitto was a writer working in the Ontario premier's office.

Leo Burnett is expanding its creative pool through five new appointments. Lara Palmer and Mark Fitzgerald join the agency as associate creative directors. Palmer comes to Leo Burnett from Ogilvy & Mather where she held the same title, while Fitzgerald was most recently a freelance art director. Marcus Sagar and Siobhan Dempsey come on board as copywriters. Jeff Wilbee has been appointed Art Director. Sagar joins the agency from Ogilvy and Mather while Dempsey comes from Publicis SMW. Both held the same titles at their previous agencies. Wilbee was most recently with Due North Communications where he also held the title art director.

David Stewart, most recently president and chief executive officer of Marks & Spencer Canada, has been appointed president and manging director of Blockbuster Canada Co. Stewart, who joins the company with experience in Canadian, U.S. and European retailing, will hold full responsibility for the operation of Blockbuster Canada.
