YTV LISTENING TO BIGFUNPARTYMIX
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based youth network YTV has teamed up with Universal Music to host the "YTV BigFunPartyMix". The BigFunPartyMix is a pop music compilation CD aimed at kids. "The inspiration for this CD came from the popularity of YTV's Hit List which showcases bands that appeal to kids and is the #1 music video countdown show in Canada," Paul Roberston, president of YTV Canada Inc., said in a release. "There was a gap in the market for a CD created specifically for kids, that reflects their taste in music." Included on the CD are 19 dance tunes from bands such as 'N Sync, S Club 7, The Moffatts and a new song called "Today is Friday" by YTV's in-house band Nuclear Donkey. YTV BigFunPartyMix also comes with tips for hosting a party, a sample invitation and a recipe for "Slug Dip Delight". Beginning today, YTV BigFunPartyMix is available in music and retail stores across Canada. Promotional support for the launch of the new CD will include 6 weeks of 30-second on-air spots on YTV, 15-second spots on MuchMusic and Teletoon, print advertising in Kidsworld, a contest on YTV's Web site, promotional give-aways and radio advertising. All advertising with the exception of the print ads was created in-house by YTV. The print advertising was created in-house by Toronto-based Universal Music.
