ENN GOING UP

The Elevator News Network's in-elevator communications service is up and running at The Bay-Wellington Tower of BCE Place in Toronto. ENN delivers news and information through the Internet to the business community via video monitors in office building elevators. The ENN system also allows individual building managers to post announcements on the news service. Service in the first of the two BCE Place towers, which includes 32 elevators, begins immediately. Service in the second tower, which includes 26 elevators, will begin by the first week of March. The ENN network, owned and operated by Verticore Communications Ltd., currently operates in the Toronto and Calgary markets. Plans to expand into the Vancouver market by mid-March coincide with a new partnership between ENN and The Oxford Properties Group of Toronto. The partnership will see the installation of ENN's in-elevator service in 54 of Oxford's buildings located in the Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal markets. Oxford Properties decided to install the network in its buildings after conducting a pilot project for the past twelve months in the Crown Life Place building in Toronto. Current news, such as traffic information, weather reports, business headlines, financial reports, sports and local news, relevant to Oxford tenants will be packaged to fit into the average elevator ride time. Information will be presented in a "headline news" format and displayed in over 400 elevators in the Oxford portfolio. Expansion plans for the Montreal market have not been confirmed.
