CANADIANS GIVE BACK TO MARK THE MILLENNIUM

A national television, radio and print advertising campaign featuring Canadians from across the country is promoting Our Millennium, a nation-wide initiative of Community Foundations of Canada. The ad campaign was created by Toronto-based Garneau Würstlin Philip, Brand Engineering and is running in both English and French. The Our Millennium initiative challenges Canadians to mark the millennium by helping to improve the living conditions of needful people. The advertising includes the tagline "What are you doing to mark the millennium?" and features Canadians from across the country talking about how they have taken part. The initiative aims to engage three million Canadians during the year 2000. To date more than one million have participated. Major sponsors of Our Millennium include the Canada Millennium Partnership Program, Canadian International Development Agency, Human Resources Development Canada, The Co-operators, Rogers Media Inc. and the Federation des Centres d'action benevole du Quebec. The campaign, which launched last week, runs throughout the year.
