CMR BECOMES IFOP CMR

Toronto-based Canada Market Research has changed its name and unveiled a new corporate logo. The changes are a result of the sale last fall of CMR to Ifop, a European market opinion research institute. CMR's new name, Ifop CMR, will reflect the company's new ownership. Its new logo, created by Paris-based Publicis, features the letters CMR incorporated into Ifop's existing company logo. Ifop CMR will now represent its parent company in the North American market and according to Ifop president and chairman Laurence Parisot, "is in at the ground level in the development of a new global research network as our North American representative." In addition to its new presence in Canada, Ifop also operates an Asian subsidiary in China and provides research services in Europe, North America and Asia.
