JWT TAKING A KIT KAT BREAK

Nestle Canada has moved its chocolate confectionery advertising account to J. Walter Thompson. Both companies are based in Toronto. The account was previously handled by MacLaren McCann of Toronto and includes brands such as Nestle's Kit Kat, Smarties, Aero, Coffee Crisp and Flipz. The move aligns the account globally. JWT already handles the chocolate confectionery business in the United States, the United Kingdom and other European markets. JWT joins the agency roster of Nestle Canada, which also works with Publicis SMW on the Nestle Ice Cream business and will continue to work with MacLaren McCann on Nescafe Good Start, Follow-Up, Wonka and Coffee-mate brands. Nestle's English agency-of-record for media buying is Optimedia Canada and its French media buying agency-of-record is Marketel/McCann Erickson Ltd.
