By Adnews Staff
Labatt Breweries is making a contribution of $2.5 million to Toronto's Olympic bid, making it the largest contribution from the private sector made to date. The $2.5 million contribution is close to 10 per cent of the $22 million the city needs for its bid to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Labatt also announced that in addition to its financial contribution, it will offer marketing and communication services to Toronto 2008. In return, Labatt is to be named the exclusive brewery supporter of the bid and named the exclusive founding corporate sponsor in the brewery category. Toronto will present its bid to the International Olympic Committee in July 2001.
