DENTSU USA TAKES FULL OWNERSHIP OF DENSTU-CADENCE CANADA

Don Effler, vice chairman of Dentsu USA Inc., announced yesterday that Denstu USA has purchased the shares of Dentsu-Cadence Canada of Toronto. The shares were held by Dentsu-Cadence Canada's president and chief executive officer Albert Barbusci. Financial details of the deal are not being disclosed. The agency will be renamed DCC Communications Inc. and Barbusci will remain as president. "By assuming 100 per cent ownership of DCC Communications, Dentsu furthers its aim of establishing a stronger position in the Canadian advertising market," Effler said. "The increased investment in DCC Communications will allow us to be more aggressive in expanding services to our existing clients and pursuing new business." Dentsu-Cadence Canada was established in 1995 as an equal partnership between Cadence and Dentsu. Dentsu USA is the holding company for the Dentsu group in North America. PR for Dentsu-Cadence Canada is handled by Thornley Fallis Communications of Toronto.
