GARNEAU WüRSTLIN PHILP PULLS OUT OF ROGERS REVIEW
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Garneau Würstlin Philp Brand Engineering has withdrawn itself from the agency review for Rogers Communications Inc. and its Rogers Cantel Inc. and Rogers Cablesystems Inc. divisions. "This decision is not a reflection on the review process to date, and we really have no idea whether we would even have been contenders," said GWP managing partner Bruce Philp. "We simply don't think we're a good match for Rogers' needs as we understand them. We've decided instead to concentrate our efforts on our clients' businesses and, after that, on opportunities that are suited to what we do." GWP has worked with Rogers since 1996. Rogers' roster of incumbents includes Bensimon Byrne DMB&B, Enterprise Creative Selling and Gee Jeffery & Partners, all of Toronto, as well as Groupaction of Montreal.
