Denis Racine, executive director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for the BC Buildings Corporation in Victoria, has been sworn in as the national president of the Canadian Public Relations Society. Racine was named at the CPRS's conference recently held in Hamilton, Ontario. Also the CPRS has named the first two members to its newly-established College of Fellows. Charles Tisdall was founding partner of Tisdall Clark and Company and vice-chairman of Continental Public Relations Ltd. until his retirement in 1989. David Eisenstadt was founding partner of The Communications Group Inc. of Toronto. Today he continues as a writer and speaker on the business of public relations. Phillip Crawley, currently president and chief operating officer, has been named publisher and chief executive officer of The Globe and Mail. Roger Parkinson, who is currently the chairman, publisher and CEO of the newspaper, will be remaining as chairman and will continue to work closely with Crawley. The transition will take place over the next few days.
