LCBO/MADD UNVEILING FIRST 3D BILLBOARD

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario and Mother's Against Drunk Driving have unveiled its first three-dimensional billboard as part of its first-ever outside advertising campaign. The campaign, which began May 17 and runs until January 2000, is designed to heighten awareness of the consequences of drinking and driving. The three-dimensional advertisment features an actual smashed car mounted on the billboard. The 3D billboard is the first of ten that will be included in the campaign that also includes more than 200 English and French billboards in Ontario communities. The campaign will also feature damaged boats as well as smashed cars for the 3D ads. The message in all of the billboards is "Drinking and Driving is no Accident". The remainder of the billboards are full-color photographs of crashed cars, sports utility vehicles, boats and snowmobiles. The billboard is located at the corner of Lakeshore Boulevard East and Freeland Street, opposite the LCBO head office. Advertising for the LCBO is done by Communiqué of Toronto.
