GOLFTOWN HITS HOLE IN ONE
By Adnews Staff
Richmond Hill residents will be hitting a lot more hole-in-ones after GolfTown opens its doors for business. The 21,000 square foot retail store will be devoted to the game of golf and will offer not only a wide selection of golf equipment, accessories, apparel and shoes but a full range of interactive services. A print campaign appearing in newspaper and magazines has been promoting the store scheduled to open this week. Heading up the new store is president and CEO Stephen Bebis, former president and CEO of Aikenhead's Home Improvement Warehouse and Home Depot Canada. Features of the new store include: a golf school taught by members of the Canadian Professional Golf Association, a Pro Shop where in-store club repairs can be done, Golf Academy driving ranges, weekly seminars by guest golf experts, golf simulators where customers can play on some of the world's most famous golf courses, GolfTown Vacations travel agency and in-store putting greens. The store will also have a computer link to the Ontario Golf Association. Advertising for GolfTown is done in-house. PR for GolfTown is handled by OEB International of Toronto.
